Ohio State made an offer to an in-state running back prospect on Thursday morning.
Marquise Davis, a Cleveland native, was on the receiving end. Davis is a 2025 prospect who is now up to 14 offers so far in his recruitment.
Here’s his announcement:
After a great talk with @CoachTonyAlford I am blessed to receive my 14th D1 offer from OHIO state university #skobucks🌰 @MacStephens @CoachNewton2 @SWiltfong247 @Rivals_Clint @On3Recruits @AllenTrieu @OhioStateFB pic.twitter.com/tpUVSygYa3

It’s still very early in the 2025 recruiting cycle, so Davis is currently unranked by the major recruiting services. However, that is expected to change in the coming months as more scouts are able to evaluate him.
In addition to Ohio State, Davis has already received offers from programs like Penn State, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Michigan State and Kentucky, amongst others.
Davis is listed at 6-foot, 190 pounds. Next fall will be his junior season at Cleveland Heights High School.
Ohio State has produced some of the top running backs in the country in recent years. Given Davis’ proximity to Columbus, the Buckeyes should have a great chance of eventually landing his signature.
