Ohio State is down 10-6 at halftime to Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game, this despite a statistically strong performance in the first half.
Ohio State outgained Northwestern in total yardage and first downs, but a first half turnover and just 3-of-7 on third down conversions contributed to the halftime deficit. The No. 4 team in the nation, Ohio State needs to beat Northwestern to book a place in the College Football Playoff.
The Buckeyes are without nearly two dozen players today, including several key contributors. Still, there was a belief that OSU would have little trouble with Northwestern.
As such, Buckeyes faithful are not happy with their team’s first half performance:
There’s this concept, of snapping the ball and handing to a RB or having your QB keep the ball past the line of scrimmage, could be worth a look

We need to do better as a pass rush and as a secondary because we aren’t getting off blocks, are taking bad angles, and we need to not allow separation in the secondary

Day needs to run the ball in the red zone.
