Ohio State and Iowa are set to square off in an important Week 6 showdown. However, the Buckeyes could be without one of their key offensive playmakers for the game.

Ahead of pre-game festivities, Ohio State listed wide receiver Carnell Tate as “questionable” on the pre-game availability report. Fortunately, star defensive lineman Tyleik Williams was not included anywhere on the report, signifying he should return to action up front.

Meanwhile, Iowa only listed WR Kaleb Brown on the weekly availability report as “out” for the game. The former Buckeye only has one catch on the season for the Hawkeyes.

If Tate cannot go, it would be a blow to Ohio State’s receiving game. He is 3rd on the Buckeyes with 14 catches for 219 yards and a receiving touchdown. Tate is 1 of 4 Ohio State players to average at least 15 yards per catch so far this season.

While Tate is a weapon in the passing game, starting QB Will Howard has praised his work as an effective blocker and difference-maker in the run game. Ohio State would love to have all hands on deck, so any absence against Iowa’s defense will be significant.

If Tate is unavailable, look for Brandon Inniss and Bryson Rodgers to get additional touches on Saturday behind Emeka Egbuka and Jeremiah Smith.
