Ohio State basketball has momentum heading into the 2024-25 season, and it appears to be carrying over to the recruiting trail.
Jake Diebler led an 8-3 finish as interim head coach in 2023-24, generating some optimism for the upcoming season. Diebler is also able to sell prospects on a bright future in Columbus, as evidenced by Tuesday’s big news.
Four-star prospect A’Mare Bynum is the newest talented player to buy into the vision, and he announced that he is committing to Ohio State. The Buckeyes beat out other schools such as Missouri, Creighton, Iowa State and Tennessee among others.

Bynum is from Nebraska, but he is finishing his high school career at Link Academy (Missouri). According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he is the No. 104 ranked prospect in the 2025 class. He is ranked as the No. 17 center in the class, and the sixth-best prospect in the state of Missouri.
He will provide the Buckeyes a center who can score inside the paint, but he can also step out and hit the 3-pointer as well.
Bynum is the 2nd player to commit to Ohio State in the 2025 class, joining 4-star SG Dorian Jones in a class currently ranked No. 25.
