Ohio State has added a blue-chip defensive back to its 2026 recruiting class.

Jordan Thomas is the newest Buckeye pledge. He announced his verbal commitment to OSU on Monday.

Out of Oradell (New Jersey) Bergen Catholic High School, Thomas is listed as measuring 6-1 and 185 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Thomas is rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in the state of New Jersey, No. 17 cornerback and No. 176 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

Thomas was highly sought-after, collecting an impressive 44 scholarship offers. For Monday’s big decision, it came down to Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Auburn and Texas A&M.

I have decided to go to Ohio State because it was the best overall fit for me,” Thomas said, per 247Sports. “They have checked off all of my boxes when it comes to what I look for in a school. They have built a consistent, genuine relationship with me where they feel like family.

With Thomas on board, the Buckeyes now have 13 verbal commitments in their 2026 recruiting class, which ranks No. 3 nationally on the Composite. OSU fans can get a preview of what Thomas brings to Columbus by checking out his highlights in the Hudl video below:
