Ohio State has another new member for its 2025 recruiting class.
The Buckeyes landed a commitment from 3-star running back Isaiah West on Sunday afternoon. West was previously committed to Kentucky, but will now be part of Ohio State’s upcoming signing class.
He shared the news of his commitment with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

West is the No. 527 overall player and the No. 44 running back in the country for the class of 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Although he’s a consensus 3-star recruit, 247Sports’ individual rankings do have him as a 4-star prospect. It’s possible West will continue to rise at the other recruiting services throughout the summer.
Ohio State’s recruitment of West has moved relatively quickly. He didn’t earn an offer from the Buckeyes until last month and then decided to commit on his official visit this weekend in Columbus. He also has offers from programs such as North Carolina, Wisconsin and Penn State, amongst a few other top teams.
West is a Pennsylvania native. He attends St. Joseph’s Prep School in Philadelphia and is listed at 5-foot-11, 208 pounds.
West is the 16th prospect to verbally commit to Ohio State in the class of 2025. The Buckeyes have long had the No. 1-ranked class in this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Here are some highlights from West’s junior season:
