Ohio State is already onto its recruiting class for 2028, getting a commitment from running back Elijah Hall on Friday evening.

Hall, who is a sophomore-to-be phenom out of Tampa, announced on his social media account on Friday morning that he plans to leave the Sunshine State and head to Big Ten country in 3 years. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder was jubilant and mature beyond his years in his announcement, posting this message: “With a lot of prayer and thought I’m beyond Excited & Blessed to be announcing my Commitment to The Ohio State University GO BUCKS.”

He’s too young to be rated yet by the 247Sports Composite rankings, but if the defending national champions from the 2024 season are interested this early, there’s got to be a reason, and Hall gave Ohio State a reason to come calling so early.

Hall was a big standout at this week’s 1-day camps held at Ohio State, and Hall didn’t let any time go to waste. He picked Ohio State as his choice after the visit with still 3 years left of high school football. Hall also had early offers from Miami and Florida State, but apparently Ohio State was the call right out of the gate for the young running back.

Interestingly, Ohio State does not have a Class of 2027 running back commitment as of yet, so it’s already skipped over that year and landed a sure to be top talent from the 2028 class.
