Super Bowl Sunday got off to a great start for Ohio State.
On Sunday, the Buckeyes landed a commitment from big-time defensive end Jack Sawyer, who’s projected to be one of the top players at his position in the 2021 class. He made his announcement via Twitter.
“I’ve talked with my family and decided I have to do what’s best for me and my future,” Sawyer wrote. “That’s why I’ll be committing to THE Ohio State University!”

247Sports currently does not have rankings for the 2021 class, but Sawyer has already received over a dozen offers. In addition to Ohio State, he’s received interest from Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State, among others.
Sawyer is a native of Pickering, Ohio. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound defensive end becomes the first player to commit to the Buckeyes’ 2021 class.
