Ohio State is looking for another top-5 recruiting class under head coach Ryan Day. On Saturday, the Buckeyes picked up a key piece for the cycle from 4-star defensive back Bryce West.

West — a major in-state prospect out of Glenville High School in Cleveland — previously announced a group of finalists that included Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and Texas A&M. Now, he’s on his way to the Buckeyes.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 177 pounds, West is rated as a 4-star recruit and the No. 4 CB nationally per the 247 Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 1 overall player out of Ohio and the 49th player in the country for the cycle.

West joins a recruiting class for Ohio State that was ranked No. 5 in the country by the 247 Sports Team Composite at the time of his commitment. He is 1 of 12 commitments for the Buckeyes to receive a rating of 4-star rating or better.
