Buckeyes linebacker K’Vaughan Pope has left the game against Akron after a heated exchange on the sideline.

According to reports, Pope threw his gloves into the crowd after he was waived off the field by teammate Teradja Mitchell. Pope then reportedly stormed to the sideline and started walking to the tunnel while taking off his jersey.

Pope was then told to leave the Buckeyes sideline as CJ Barnett took him to the locker room.

Pope came into this game with 3 tackles on the year with 1 pass defended. His best season thus far was in 2019 when he finished with 13 total tackles (6 solo) with 2 interceptions and 2 passes defended.

Before committing to OSU, he was a 4-star prospect in the 2018 class and was the No. 4 rated player in Virginia, per his 247sports Composite ranking.

No further details have been provided at this time as it remains to be seen if he comes back to the sideline.

Ohio State has a 35-7 lead near the end of the first half.
