Both B1G teams made it into the College Football Playoff, but both fell short in the semifinals.
The Wolverines finished the season 13-1, with their lone loss coming in the semifinal game to TCU.
The Buckeyes finished 11-2, losing to Michigan in the regular season and Georgia in the semifinals.
In the 2022 Preseason AP Poll, the Wolverines were ranked 8th while the Buckeyes were ranked 2nd. In the final AP Poll for 2022, the Wolverines were 3rd and the Buckeyes were 4th.
