It’s official, Ohio State as added former Oklahoma running back Trey Sermon to its roster.

Ohio State made the official announcement on Wednesday. He will be immediately eligible for the Buckeyes in the 2020 season as a graduate transfer. Sermon will join a running back room in Columbus that has been hindered by injuries, and is expected to have an immediate impact in the OSU offense.

Sermon amassed 2,076 rushing yards in three seasons at Oklahoma, scoring 22 touchdowns. He also totaled 36 receptions for 391 yards and three more touchdowns with the Sooners. OU reached the College Football Playoff in all three seasons he was on the team.

Last year, Sermon played in just nine games after sustaining an injury.

The Buckeyes are coming off a 13-1 season in 2019, winning the B1G and reaching the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2016. The lone loss came to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.
