Ohio State OL, former 4-star prospect hits transfer portal

A former 4-star offensive lineman has decided to look outside of Ohio State for his next opportunity in college football.
247Sports reported on Friday that Max Wray, a member of Ohio State’s 2018 recruiting class, has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He spent three years in Columbus and played in 10 games during his time with the Buckeyes.
Wray redshirted in 2018, his first year with the program. In 2019 he played in three games and was on the field in seven contests for the Buckeyes during the 2020 campaign, earning one start.
The 6-foot-7, 310-pound offensive lineman will still have three years of eligibility to use at his next destination after utilizing one redshirt season and with the NCAA’s blanket waiver for all fall student-athletes in 2020.
Wray is a native of Franklin, Tennessee and was ranked as the No. 9 offensive tackle in the 2018 class. Overall, he was one of the Top 150 players of the cycle, ranking No. 121 nationally.
Ohio State ended the 2020 season with a 7-1 record, with the only loss coming in the national championship. The Buckeyes are currently in the middle of spring practice, preparing for the 2021 campaign.
