Ohio State on Peacock: Fans sound off on streaming-only broadcast

Ohio State is preparing to come off a bye week and plunge into the second stretch of the season against Maryland. That game will be a good one on FOX, but the Buckeyes learned one broadcast for the future that didn’t sit well with some fans.
On Monday, the B1G schedule for Week 7 was dropped. That included Ohio State’s matchup with Purdue, a 12 p.m. ET kickoff that is set for a Peacock-only broadcast.
The potential for certain streaming-only broadcasts was well known as a part of the B1G’s new landmark media deal with NBC, CBS and FOX. However, some fans will need a bit more time to adjust to the idea of having to pay for an additional service to watch their favorite team.
Here’s how some fans reacted to the idea of Ohio State’s Week 7 broadcast:
Knew we would have at least 1 game. Still stupid https://t.co/cUTe4z7Lgg

At the end of the day, things can always be worse. Michigan had to open the season with a Peacock-only broadcast after winning the B1G the past two seasons, and Purdue’s game against Ohio State will mark 3 straight weeks for the Boilermakers on streaming.
