Ohio State football opened as a considerable 17-point road favorite over Purdue Sunday afternoon, not exactly an unexpected opening line for one of the top teams in the country against a Boilermakers team that has struggled without Jeff Brohm.

However, this being at Ross-Ade Stadium throws a bit of a wrench into things, and is likely why this spread is not even higher in favor of the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes used a strong 2nd half to down Maryland after the Terps came out of the gate swinging in Week 6. Purdue, however, looked rough against an Iowa squad that completed just 6 passes all game and fell 20-14.

Ohio State is currently 2-2-1 against the spread after pushing Saturday against the Terrapins. Purdue is 2-4 against the spread.

The Buckeyes have performed well on the road this season, with perhaps their biggest win of the year coming against Sam Hartman and Notre Dame in South Bend.
