Ohio State has been pegged as a huge favorite for Saturday’s game against Illinois.

When the opening line was released, the Buckeyes were picked as a 38-point favorite over the Illini, one of the largest spreads of the season for Ohio State. That kind of line isn’t too surprising, considering the wide talent gap between the two programs.

Ohio State comes into the game 8-2 and is fresh off a 48-3 blowout win over Michigan State. Illinois, on the other hand, hasn’t won a B1G game this season and enters with just a 2-8 record. The Illini suffered a 24-14 loss to Indiana in Champaign last Saturday.

While that might seem like a tough spread to cover, the Buckeyes have won four games this season by at least 40 points. Despite the poor record, Illinois actually hasn’t been blown out too often, with four of the eight losses coming by two possessions or less.

Saturday’s game between Ohio State and Illinois is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. ET kick and will air on ABC.
