Ohio State is in the middle of compiling one of the best recruiting classes in the country for the 2025 cycle. A key group in that recruiting class includes the secondary with an elite core committed to the Buckeyes.
On Sunday, Ohio State picked up a commitment from Faheem Delane, a 4-star DB out of Maryland. Delane also considered LSU and Oregon before committing to Ryan Day’s program.

Impact for Ohio State
As things currently stand, Ohio State has the nation’s No. 1 overall class for 2025 per the 247 Sports Team Composite. That group contains 14 hard commitments as of Sunday afternoon with a definitive focus on the secondary.
The recruiting class for the Buckeyes is currently headlined by Devin Sanchez out of Houston and Na’eem Offord out of Alabama, a pair of 5-star cornerbacks who are rated as top-10 players nationally for the cycle. Delane is a 3rd DB ranked as a top 50 player for the cycle.
Along with those players, Ohio State also holds a pledge from 4-star safety DeShawn Stewart (No. 26 S) and 4-star ATH Cody Haddad who could slot into the defensive backfield.
An encouraging sign from that group sign is also the location where each player hails from. Those secondary pieces range across the country from Texas, Alabama, Maryland, New Jersey and Ohio.
