Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked No. 9 in the country. On Tuesday, Ryan Day and his staff saw a new player announce his commitment to the Buckeyes.

Khmari Bing, a product of Baltimore, has pledged to the program, he told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. The 6-foot, 190-pound cornerback from Saint Frances Academy is considered the No. 21 player in the state of Maryland by 247Sports’ composite ranking.

Bing was previously committed to another Big Ten program — the one right in his backyard, in fact. In August 2024, he announced his pledge to Maryland.

But Ohio State extended an offer just over a year later on Sept. 16. Bing then took an official visit to Columbus for the Ohio State vs. Minnesota game on Oct. 4, leading to Tuesday’s decision.

The Buckeyes now have three committed defensive backs in their 2026 recruiting class and a total of 22 committed players in the class. Top 60 recruit Blaine Bradford, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is the nation’s No. 7 safety and pledged on Mar. 31. On April 3, Jacksonville, Fla., safety Simeon Caldwell, No. 6 in the country at his position, announced his commitment.
