Ohio State is preparing for its B1G opener and a crucial crossover matchup against Wisconsin. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes will be missing a few key pieces for the game.
When the status report was released Saturday evening, star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was listed as unavailable for the game. Smith-Njigba did play last week after getting injured in Week 1, but apparently suffered some sort of setback following that game.
Veteran defensive back Cameron Brown is also out for the game.
A couple of concerning absences for Ohio State ahead of tonight's Big Ten opener: Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cameron Brown will be unavailable against the Badgers.

Good news for the Buckeyes is the fact that starting running back TreVeyon Henderson was not listed on the status report. Henderson missed most of the game against Toledo last week after getting injured early.
It will be interesting to see how the team looks against Wisconsin without those pieces. While Wisconsin continues to lean on its running game, Graham Mertz and the passing attack has been more utilized in nonconference play and could try to target the Buckeye secondary.
