It’s not just the skill position players and linemen who have to make tough decisions about their football futures. Sometimes, specialists have to make those difficult calls, too.

That’s true for Ohio State punter Drue Chrisman, who decided to make an announcement on his future on Thursday. While many of his teammates from the 2019 squad have decided to take their shot at the NFL, the punter is returning to Columbus for one more year.

Chrisman made the announcement in a Twitter post, with quite possibly the most epic photo ever. It wasn’t Chrisman punt, but instead throwing the football, showing off that versatility he brings to the field.

The image of him passing comes from the B1G Championship Game, when Ohio State ran a fake punt to catch the Wisconsin defense off guard.

“After thoughtful prayer and consideration about declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft, I’ll keep it short and sweet for you,” Chrisman wrote. “Buckeye Nation, I’m not going anywhere! Excited for one more year of flipping the field in front of the best fans in the country.”

Chrisman is regarded as one of the top punters in the country and has been excellent at helping Ohio State win the field position battle throughout his career in Columbus. This season, Chrisman punted the ball 46 times with a 44.3 yards per boot average.

Chrisman’s announcement was the same day as linebacker Baron Browning, who also decided to stick around Columbus for one more season.
