Ohio State is heading to a New Year’s Six Bowl coming out of the 2023 season. Despite falling short of the College Football Playoff, the Buckeyes will head to a strong bowl game after landing at No. 7 in the final CFP rankings released Sunday.
As a result, Ryan Day will lead Ohio State into the Goodyear Cotton Bowl and a matchup against SEC foe Missouri. The Tigers, led by Eli Drinkwitz, are ranked No. 9 and went 10-2 this season with losses to Georgia and LSU but with wins over Tennessee and Kansas State.

Missouri finished second in the SEC East behind Georgia. The Tigers arguably played the Bulldogs better than any other team in the regular season during a 30-21 win for Georgia in Athens.
As for Ohio State, it will be interesting to see what the roster looks like when the Cotton Bowl rolls around on Dec. 29. A number of key players will be draft-eligible this season, and that includes superstar wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
For now, fans can prepare for an elite postseason environment and a crucial B1G vs. SEC matchup to cap the 2023 season.
