According to the Columbus Dispatch’s Bill Rabinowitz, when Alabama’s logo popped up on the screen to show that the Crimson Tide was the last team in the playoff, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer sunk into his chair because he believed the Buckeyes were going to make it this year.

Meyer wasn’t the only person in the Ohio State program who thought the Scarlet and Gray were going to make the playoff. In fact, every Buckeye player thought they were in after winning the B1G Championship.

Now, Ohio State has to prepare for the USC Trojans as the two teams will square off against one another in the Cotton Bowl on Dec. 29.
