Ohio State trails Rutgers at halftime in shocking Week 10 upset alert

Ohio State entered Saturday’s game against Rutgers as the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoff rankings. But at halftime, the Buckeyes trail the Scarlet Knights 9-7 in Piscataway.

The Scarlet Knights had a chance to find the end zone in the dying seconds of the 1st half but weren’t able to make good on a pair of pass attempts. Instead, Jai Patel came in to kick a 20-yard field goal to give his team the edge.

Kyle McCord is 12-of-16 for 80 yards and has thrown a touchdown and an interception. TreVeyon Henderson has 11 carries for 51 yards. As for Marvin Harrison Jr., he has had a quiet day: just 2 catches for 19 yards.

A telling stat: the Buckeyes are 0-of-5 on 3rd down opportunities. The Scarlet Knights, for what it’s worth, haven’t been much better: 1-of-7.

Ohio State has never lost to Rutgers in 9 tries. Can it avoid a major road upset — and a loss that would deal a stunning blow to its CFP hopes — and improve to 9-0?
