Ohio State will have a special look for its Nov. 11 meeting with Michigan State. The Buckeyes unveiled their alternate gray uniforms on Friday.

Almost everything will be gray for the Buckeyes against the Spartans in primetime. Only the cleats are scarlet in the photos shared on the team’s official Twitter account.

OSU previously sported gray alternate jerseys against Penn State in 2017. In that game, the gray jerseys featured black lettering and were paired with black helmets. This time, the uniform features scarlet lettering and the traditional helmet.

OSU’s announcement states that the Buckeyes have worn various alternate versions of the uniform 33 times since 2009, including jersey/pant combinations of white/gray, scarlet/gray, white/white, black/black, gray/gray and scarlet/scarlet. The 2023 version is the first alternate uniform combination of all gray with scarlet accents. The alternate uniforms feature steel-gray jersey and pants, a slightly darker shade than the traditional uniform pants.

The Ohio State-Michigan State game is set 7:30 p.m., airing on NBC. OSU has won the last 7 meetings in the series (2016-22).
