Ohio State will play today’s Week 8 game against Iowa without 14 players on the active roster. The injury report was updated ahead of the game and there will be several key players out for Ohio State.
Fortunately for Ohio State, star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was cleared to play. This will be Smith-Njigba’s 1st game back since Week 3 vs. Toledo. Other receivers have stepped up in Smith-Njigba’s absence, but the offense will welcome him back with open arms.
The offense will also have other weapons available against Iowa. Ohio State running backs Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson will be ready for the Buckeyes. Henderson and Williams have missed some time throughout the season. For this week, Ohio State will have both running backs available at the same time.
Cornerback Cameron Brown will be 1 of the 14 players out against Iowa. This will be the 3rd game this season that Brown will be unable to play in. Brown, who is a starter, will need to be replaced. Aside from Brown, Ohio State will be without 8 other defensive players.
Playing without 14 players is not ideal for any team, but the Buckeyes are looking to remain undefeated on the season. Ohio State is set to host Iowa at 12 p.m. ET on FOX.
