Ohio State defensive back Lathan Ransom wasn’t content with how the season ended and is coming back for another in 2024.

Ransom shared the news on his Instagram account. He accounted for 34 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 2 passes defended, and 2 forced fumbles this season and is returning for a 5th one in 2024.

Here’s what Ransom had to say about the decision:

“It’s not easy to leave a team. It’s much harder to leave a brotherhood. This football program and University have meant so much to me, and we have unfinished business,” said Ransom. “After much thought and prayer, I have decided to return to The Ohio State University for my final season in 2024.”

The veteran Ohio State DB played in 9 games this season after missing time due to injury. He played in at least 12 games each year since 2021. The fewest number of games that he had played before this past season was 4 back in 2020 as a freshman.

Ohio State lost to Michigan for the 3rd straight season in The Game. The team ended the year at 11-2 as a result of losing to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl. Ransom should be welcomed with open arms to the Ohio State secondary as an experienced defender.
