Quinn Ewers is the 247 Sports across-the-board number-one quarterback prospect for the class of 2022 and he is committed to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
This year, as a junior, he led Southlake Carroll High-School, a traditional Texas superpower, to a 12-2 record and an appearance in the state championship game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
While the Texas title game is a top-three most pressure-packed situation a high-school athlete can play in, Ewers acquitted himself well in a losing effort, completing 23-of-39 passes for 352 yards and 3 touchdowns.

On the other hand, Ewers also threw 2 interceptions in what ended up a 52-34 championship loss for the Dragons. He’ll have one more opportunity as a senior to return and vindicate the championship game defeat.
Part of the reason that now-former Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman was fired from that post was for was losing in-state superstars like Ewers to other schools, both out of state and within. Ewers has spoke in the past of a superlative feeling of understanding between himself and the Ohio State coaching staff and will matriculate there in 2022 to battle for a starting job on the always-in-contention Buckeyes.
If his performance in the state title game was any indication, Ewers is more than capable of being the starting quarterback for some very talented Buckeyes teams.
