Ohio State put together a historic season in 2024, rolling to the first-ever national title of the 12-team College Football Playoff era. Now, that team is sending a large group of Buckeyes to the NFL Draft, and one analyst ranked the top prospects available from that group.
In a segment for NFL Network, Brian Baldinger described the top Ohio State prospects as “an embarrassment of riches” for Ryan Day and his staff.
“You wonder why they won the national championship,” quipped Baldinger.
Overall, Baldinger’s top 7 players from Ohio State include the dynamic pass-rushing duo of Jack Sawyer and JT Tuimoloau and the running back tandem of Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson. However, the top spot went to a veteran contributor for Ohio State.
“Finally, (Emeka) Egbuka is just a polished, polished player,” said Baldinger. “In the long line of great wide receivers at Ohio State, he’s the next one to come out this season.”
Overall, it’s unclear if any Ohio State player will be the top pick at their respective positions, but the depth of talent was evident throughout the regular season. Now, that talent will take a run at producing the most picks from a single school in this year’s NFL Draft.
