In the Buckeyes road win against Minnesota last week, they set a school record in terms of yards per play.

The Buckeyes averaged 10.31 yards per play against the Golden Gophers, which isn’t something you see often around college football.

This stat is also a bit crazy considering that Minnesota was actually beating OSU at halftime 14-10.

After that though, it was all Buckeyes all the time as they scored 35 points in the 2nd half (21 in the third quarter) to win 45-31. Freshman quarterback CJ Stroud had 194 yards passing with 4 touchdowns while Miyan Williams led the team in rushing. He finished with 9 carries for 125 yards (13.9 yards per carry) and a touchdown.

It was even better receiving-wise as Chris Olave averaged 29 yards per reception and had 117 yards with 2 touchdowns on just 4 catches. Garrett Wilson also was sensational as he averaged 16 yards a catch and finished with 80 yards on 5 receptions, plus a touchdown.

It’s not likely OSU will top this record this season, but crazier things have happened before. Their next game will be against Oregon this Saturday in Columbus at Noon ET.
