Ohio State is getting ready to take on Alabama in the national title game, and an underdog Buckeyes victory would be a perfect cap to a crazy season.

2020 has been as far away from normal as any college football season in history, and Ohio State has had to endure multiple canceled games, after the initial plan of scrapping the entire season was reversed, and the potential of missing out on the Big Ten Championship game due to a lack of games played.

Winning a national championship would be an amazing end to the story.

OSU head coach Ryan Day feels the same.

“I think it will be probably one of the greatest stories in the history of college football, at least one of the more amazing stories,” said Day.

Getting to the national title game and earning a chance to play Alabama was a big accomplishment for the program as a whole. Ohio State had never beaten Clemson prior to their 49-28 victory over the Tigers in the Sugar Bowl.

Beating Clemson was what the Buckeyes trained for in the offseason, with eyes on revenge from the 2019 playoff game.

But for Day and the Buckeyes, it was never the end game.

And on Monday night in Miami Gardens, the Buckeyes will play for what they have been really chasing – the national title.
