One of the B1G’s best wide receivers is going to spend one more year playing college football.

Monday evening, Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave announced via Twitter that he will be returning to Columbus to play one more year in a Buckeye uniform. It’s huge news for Ryan Day and Co., as Olave is arguably the best wide reeciver in the B1G.

In a post on social media on Monday, Olave made his announcement.

Olave was the B1G’s second-leading receiver in total yardage, ending the 2020 campaign with 729 yards and 7 touchdowns on 50 receptions. His speed and athleticism is a difficult combination for opposing defensive backs to cover.

Adding him back in the mix with Garrett Wilson, Julian Fleming, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a lethal wide receiving corps for the Buckeyes.

In three seasons at Ohio State, Olave has made tremendous contributions. He’s caught 111 passes for 1,775 yards and 22 touchdowns during his career with the Buckeyes.

Last season, Olave played in 7 of Ohio State’s 8 games, missing the B1G Championship Game due to a positive COVID-19 test. But the receiver totaled 100-yard receiving days in 5 of those games, with the exceptions coming against Rutgers (64) and Alabama (69).

There’s no question now, Olave will be one of the B1G’s top receivers in 2021.
