Tyreke Smith has made it official. The Ohio State defensive end announced via Twitter that he will be declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft.
Smith has been a critical part of the Ohio State defense over the past 4 seasons. This year, he played in 9 games for the Buckeyes, collecting 25 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 pass break-ups and a forced fumble. Ohio State ended the year with an 11-2 record, which included a win over Utah in the Rose Bowl Game.
Below is Smith’s announcement, which he posted on Twitter Monday night. He becomes the latest Buckeye to make his declaration for the NFL Draft official.

Over his 4 seasons with the program, Smith appeared in 38 games while wearing the scarlet and gray. He was credited with 55 stops, 12 tackles for loss and 8 sacks. The defensive end also had 5 pass break-ups and 2 forced fumble during his time in Columbus.
In 2019 and 2020, Smith was named to the Academic All-B1G team. He’s also been an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete each of his first 3 years with the program.
