With both No. 4 Ohio State and No. 11 Oklahoma off this week because of cancellations due to COVID-19 by its opponents, Lincoln Riley was open to a solution

The Oklahoma coach said the Sooners would be willing to square off with the Buckeyes in what would be an exciting cross-conference clash.

However, while Riley would embrace the opportunity, he realizes it’s not likely to happen because of the logistics.

“From a competitive standpoint, we would love to play,” Riley said.

That being said, Riley believes there would be merits for both teams to challenge themselves before their respective conference title game appearances.

Ohio State was slated to play Michigan and Oklahoma had a matchup vs. West Virginia this weekend. Ohio State will face No. 14 Northwestern in the B1G title game, while Oklahoma will play No. 7 Iowa State in the Big 12 title game.

We’ll never know how Ohio State-Oklahoma would’ve ended up, but hopefully we’ll be able to see the two teams play each other at some point in the future.
