Oklahoma dismisses two players following robbery allegations, Lincoln Riley confirms

The two Oklahoma football players allegedly involved in a robbery that occurred in April have been dismissed from the program. Head coach Lincoln Riley confirmed the news during a press conference on Thursday.
Sophomore wide receiver Trejan Bridges and freshman running back Seth McGowan were allegedly involved in an armed robbery that occurred last month. Neither will continue playing football for the Sooners.
“Yeah, no, they’re not members of our program anymore, and just we wish them the very best going forward,” Riley said.
According to The Oklahoman’s Nolan Clay via All Sooners, the victim informed police that Bridges pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him. McGowan was also believed to be involved in the incident.
An April 26 eviction affidavit, filed by Cottages of Norman attorney Ashley Schovanec which cites “information and belief,” explains that “criminal charges against Bridges are forthcoming.” As of now, the Norman Police Department informed All Sooners that charges haven’t been filed, nor have arrested been made, with the investigation ongoing.

Bridges has amassed 9 receptions for 101 yards in his two seasons at Oklahoma. Bridges tallied 2 receptions for 19 yards during the 2020 campaign. Last season, McGowan finished with 370 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on 58 carries, as well as 13 receptions for 201 yards and a touchdown.
