If you’re wanting to watch Oklahoma’s season-opening game against Missouri State on Saturday, Sept. 12, you’ll have to pay a decent price to see the Sooners in action.
Oklahoma announced on Tuesday that its season opener against Missouri State will be available via pay-per-view with a 6 p.m. CT kickoff time schedule. The price to watch the game? $54.99.
No, that’s not a joke.
To see the Sooners play the first game of the season, fans will have to cough up over $50 for the game. At this time, it appears to be the only game that Oklahoma will play on pay-per-view this year.
Maybe if you’re able to round up a few buddies who are able to split up the cost, it wouldn’t be so high. Still, charging more than $50 to see Oklahoma — a team favored to land in the College Football Playoff — to play an FCS opponent, is a little steep.
Oklahoma also announced that its Sept. 26 game against Kansas State and its Oct. 10 matchup with Texas will air on FOX.
