At least one college football bettor is confident in Rutgers.
According to The Action Network’s Darren Rovell, someone recently placed a $9,900 bet at William Hill for Rutgers (+13) to cover the spread against Michigan State on Saturday. At -110 juice, it would net $9,000 if the Scarlet Knights cover.
Biggest college wager William Hill has taken so far is, surprise, one of the darling underdogs, Rutgers (+13) vs. Michigan State.

Rutgers is coming off a few rough seasons, including a 2-4 campaign a season ago. The Scarlet Knights will hope to turn things around under Greg Schiano, but they have lost six straight to Michigan State. They’ve only reached double digits twice in those contests.
According to OddShark’s college football betting database, Rutgers is 15-15 against the spread and 5-25 straight up in its last 30 games. The same service has Rutgers as 14-16 against the spread and 0-30 straight up as a double-digit underdog in its last 30 games.
Rutgers announced a depth chart earlier this week, but declined to name a starting quarterback. Schiano’s choice between Artur Sitkowski and Noah Vedral won’t be known until closer to game time.
Per The Action Network, this line opened at Rutgers +16.5.
Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.
