The best tradition in college football made a special appearance Sunday afternoon.
The tradition of waving to the Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital at the end of the first quarter during football season has been one of the best moments throughout home games in Kinnick Stadium. Traditionally contained to Saturdays in the fall, the Hawkeyes had a chance to see the tradition this weekend.
With commencement activities going on Sunday to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2021 class, the graduating seniors concluded their time as Hawkeye students with one more Wave to the hospital. Needless to say, it is just as special as during football season.

Now, Hawkeye faithful can look forward to September and the first home game of 2021. This year’s season opener against Indiana will be at home in Kinnick Stadium on Sept. 4.
