One stat from PFF shows how dominant Micah Parsons was in run defense at Penn State

Heading into this year’s NFL Draft, Micah Parsons had been considered one of the top linebacker prospects in recent memory. This week, Pro Football Focus supported that argument with one impressive stat.
Parsons, selected at No. 12 overall in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys, had an outstanding season in 2019 with 109 tackles, 14 for loss, 5 sacks, 5 pass break-ups and 4 forced fumbles. All those numbers are outstanding.
On top of all that, Parsons graded as a 94.8 as a linebacker in run defense during the 2019 season. Per PFF, that’s the highest grade the website as ever recorded for a college linebacker.

No wonder he was a first-round lock.
Parsons opted out of the 2020 season to begin training for the NFL. That decision didn’t hinder his draft status, as he was still one of the top defensive players taken off the board over the weekend. He was also the second B1G player selected in the first round.
Parsons played at Penn State for two seasons and was a former 5-star prospect.
