Oregon just landed another big win on the recruiting trail.

Jalen Lott announced his commitment on Tuesday. He became the latest blue-chip prospect to join Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class.

Dan Lanning’s staff managed to convince Lott to leave Texas for Eugene. Out of Frisco (Texas) Panther Creek High School, Lott is listed as measuring 6-feet and 176 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Lott is rated 4-stars, the No. 5 ATH, No. 8 player in the state of Texas and No. 49 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

As a top-50 overall prospect in one of the most heavily recruited states in the country, Lott was highly sought after. He collected 47 scholarship offers during his recruitment.

For Tuesday’s big decision, Lott narrowed things down to Oregon, LSU, Texas and USC. Lott is a Texas legacy, as his father was a member of the Longhorn football and track squads before his mother played women’s basketball at UT. Jalen, though, wants to create his own legacy in Eugene, he told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

With Lott on board, Oregon has 14 verbal pledges in its 2026 class, which ranks No. 9 nationally on the Composite. Twelve of the 14 commitments are either rated 4- or 5-star, meaning Oregon is likely to climb the recruiting rankings as more spots are filled.
