One of Oregon’s key players has been removed from the Ducks’ season opener against Fresno State as defensive lineman Kayvon Thibodeaux did not return to action following halftime.
Projected as a top draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Thibodeaux made his impact felt in the first half with a strip-sack. That set the Ducks up in great field position.

Unfortunately, Thibodeaux would go down with what appeared to be a foot or ankle injury. He spent time in the injury tent but eventually returned to the field.

Coming out of halftime, Thibodeaux did not return to the field. He was eventually spotted in street clothes and a walking boot as Fresno State came back to tie the game at 21-all entering the fourth quarter.

For now, we will have to wait and see what his injury situation turns out to be. Oregon is set to travel to Columbus to take on Ohio State in Week 2, and doing so without Thibodeaux in the lineup would be a big blow for the Ducks.
