Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal doesn’t seem sure if defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux will be able to play in Columbus on Saturday.

Cristobal classified Thibodeaux as “day-to-day” and also said that they’re being cautious with him at practice this week.

He also said that they’re always going to be open and honest with injuries and they’re gonna see where he is towards game time.

Thibodeaux suffered an ankle sprain during the Ducks Week 1 win over Fresno State and x-rays came back negative after he was tested for having a broken ankle. He returned to the game for a brief period after the injury, then exited for good and was seen on the sideline in a walking boot.

Before getting hurt, Thibodeaux had 2 tackles (1 solo), plus a sack and forced fumble. His best overall season came in 2020 when he finished with 38 total tackles (23 solo) with 3 sacks.

If he’s not able to go on Saturday, it’ll make stopping the Buckeyes vaunted offense that much tougher.
