Oscar Tshiebwe, reigning National Player of the Year, has been given an injury update by John Calipari ahead of the matchup against Michigan State. Tshiebwe had an offseason procedure on his knee, which put the beginning of his senior season in jeopardy.
Calipari said that Tshiebwe will practice on Monday and will most likely play against the Spartans, but with limited time on the court. If he does play, Calipari expects the big man to be on the court in “3-4 minutes per stretch.”
John Calipari says Oscar Tshiebwe will practice today and will have a better idea on if he will play Tuesday vs. Michigan State
"My guess is he plays 3-4 minutes per stretch, if he plays. … Knowing him, he wants to play."

Michigan State is coming off a close 1-point loss to No. 2 Gonzaga last Friday and hopes to avoid a loss to a Kentucky team that is very good with or without Tshiebwe.
However, having Tshiebwe will make it all the more difficult for the Wildcats to be upset by the Spartans. Tshiebwe is the first National Player of the Year to come back in the following year since 2009, when Tyler Hansbrough came back to North Carolina, according to the AP.
