Ohio State’s top-ranked 2016 recruiting class took a hit on Sunday night.
The Buckeyes lost a commitment from four-star quarterback Tristen Wallace, who announced on Twitter that he flipped to Oregon.
Wallace is rated as the fourth-best athlete in the 2016 class, according to 247sports.com. Originally expected to play quarterback for the Buckeyes, he listed in his Twitter bio that he’s an “Oregon WR/ATH commit.”
The news came on the same night that Oregon actually lost a commitment from three-star quarterback Seth Green, who flipped to Minnesota.
The Buckeyes no longer have a quarterback in the 2016 class, but they did have a home visit with Maryland four-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins. It’s worth noting that he committed to Maryland a month after Wallace committed to the Buckeyes.
Haskins is the seventh-rated pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class. He made an official visit to Columbus this past weekend.
