Tens of thousands of tickets for Ohio State’s spring game have already been sold, according to a report from Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch.
On Friday, Rabinowitz reported that more than 50,000 tickets have already been purchased for Ohio State’s spring game, scheduled for Saturday, April 13. He received confirmation from OSU spokesman Jerry Emig.
Due to ongoing construction at Ohio Stadium, the capacity for this year’s spring game will be 76,000.
Ohio State usually enjoys a strong turnout at the annual spring game, as thousands of fans show up to catch their first glimpse of the Buckeyes. While a 50,000-person total isn’t record-breaking in Columbus, it’s still a significant crowd.
It’s likely that the number of tickets purchased will continue to increase over the week, as well.
Saturday will be fans’ first opportunity to check out the 2019 Buckeyes, led by new head coach Ryan Day. Ohio State is coming off a 13-1 season in which it claimed another B1G title and defeated Washington in the Rose Bowl.
