Owner Tom Brady? Former Michigan QB among ownership group purchasing pro pickleball team

Tom Brady joined an ownership group to purchase a professional pickleball team.
Along with several other owners, Brady purchased a Major League Pickleball expansion team. The expansion team will start playing in the league’s 2023 season. This is a major step into sports ownership for Brady and he is getting involved in a developing sport.
The former Michigan quarterback joined several other notable owners to buy the team. Kim Clijsters, a former tennis player, was also a member of this ownership group. Major League Pickleball announced the new ownership group (Via MLive):
“Tom Brady, Kim Clijsters, and Knighthead Capital Management are champions in their fields and will now be champions for Major League Pickleball,” MLP Founder Steve Kuhn said. “What really shines through in working with these amazing individuals is their passion for the sport.”
Pickleball is a growing sport in the United States and more celebrities are starting to get involved in starting professional teams in the sport. This ownership group will help the pickleball league expand from 12 teams to a total of 16 teams in 2023.
As an NFL player, Brady is in the middle of his 3rd season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady and the Buccaneers are off to a 3-2 start.
