Minnesota is exceeding everyone’s expectations. Heck, even in the state of Minnesota, people are probably surprised.
The Golden Gophers are 8-0 this season, ranked No. 13 in the country and have arguably their biggest game ever at TCF Bank Stadium on the horizon against No. 5 Penn State, who is also unbeaten. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for noon ET and the game will be televised on ABC.
RELATED: Report: P.J. Fleck, Minnesota working toward contract extension
With all the success that Minnesota has had so far, coach P.J. Fleck is getting plenty of attention — as he should. With that, though, comes the rumblings of Fleck moving on from Minnesota and going somewhere “better.”
What can the Gophers do to keep him in town longer? Well, pay him more. Simple enough.
On Tuesday, Fleck met with the media and spoke about ongoing contract negotiations with the school:
#Gophers coach PJ Fleck confirms reports about him nearing a contract extension at Minnesota.
"Hopefully that turns out to be real here very soon," Fleck said on @KFAN1003. "We'll have, hopefully, some news soon."

It sounds as though Fleck wants to be at Minnesota. And, it sounds like he will be earning an extension fairly soon. Good news all around, Gopher fans.
Especially for Fleck.
