Pat Fitzgerald has his Wildcats riding a 3-0 start to the season, and he joined Joel Klatt on Tuesday to discuss that fantastic start.
To start the segment, Klatt mentioned how teams traditionally take on a similar personality to that of the head coach. When that comes to Northwestern, it resembles toughness and effort, two traits that start with Fitzgerald himself.
Fitzgerald admitted to Klatt that effort is one of the key values at the top of the program’s agenda. Beyond that, Fitzgerald explained what it means to play “the Wildcat way” at Northwestern:
“I appreciate the kind words. We’re a values-based program here, and one of the values we have is effort,” said Fitzgerald. “We believe it’s a choice, and we define it as playing the Wildcat way. That’s playing as hard as you can for as long as you can.”
Here’s the segment from FOX College Football:

Northwestern will put those values to the test against Purdue in Week 4. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:30 pm EST on BTN in a battle of unbeaten teams.
