Pat Fitzgerald praises Peyton Ramsey: ‘You can’t put a price tag on experience’

Peyton Ramsey was a team captain at Indiana University and an honorable mention All-Big Ten before going as a graduate transfer to quarterback the Northwestern Wildcats for his senior season.
Ramsey made an instant difference for the Wildcat’s offense a group that one year prior had one of the worst statistical campaigns in program history.
Northwestern’s head coach Pat Fitzgerald knows what Ramsey brought to the program cannot be faked. In the Big Ten it is put up or shut up and Ramsey has been putting up numbers for his new team.
“You can’t put a price tag on experience. Young quarterbacks might let one bad play fester in their minds—we all saw that last year with our young, inexperienced quarterbacks—I think the guys have complete and total confidence in Peyton,” said Fitzgerald during a Monday press conference.
Ramsey is on the Johnny Unitas Award watch list and Northwestern is 4-0, ranked 19th in the country, and is alone leading the Big Ten West division. The Wildcats are back in Evanston this week waiting on the brute savagery of the 10th ranked Wisconsin Badgers to arrive at Ryan Field for Saturday afternoon’s game.
The winner Saturday will take over the West’s leaderboard on the road to the Big Ten title game, and Ramsey, the B1G Cat’s quarterback, is going to get his say in the outcome.
