Pat Fitzgerald has a lot of respect for Ryan Day. That respect has only grown following a tumultuous 2020 for the B1G.
With the regular season wrapping up Saturday, Northwestern and Ohio State can shift their sights to the B1G Championship Game matchup. At 5-0, the Buckeyes have a shot at the College Football Playoff. While the Wildcats are much lower in the rankings at 6-1, a chance to play in the Rose Bowl will be on the line in Indianapolis.
During his preview of the upcoming game, Fitzgerald admitted that he voted for Day to be the B1G Coach of the Year this season. He believes Day’s work with the Buckeyes has been impressive, but Fitzgerald said he also gained respect for Day’s work in trying to save a season for the B1G.
He went on to say that Ohio State and Day deserve a lot of the credit for the B1G getting to play a season this year:

Fitz may have a lot of respect for Day, but he’ll still try and do everything he can to beat him on Saturday. Kickoff for the B1G Championship Game is set for 12 pm EST on FOX.
