Pat Fitzgerald will get to enjoy Saturday’s win over Nebraska.
In Week 0’s game in Dublin, the Wildcats twice battled back from 11-point deficits against the Huskers. Northwestern finally took the lead for good with Evan Hull’s first rushing touchdown of the year in the fourth quarter.
Now, Northwestern can breathe a bit and recover. Due to the Wildcats playing in Week 0 – and other games on the schedule – they will not be active again until two weeks from now on Sept. 10.
After the win, Fitzgerald admitted the team will relax and enjoy the win and previewed “some good clean fun” that is likely to take place Saturday evening. And likely some on Sunday, too.

Fitzgerald also went on to say that winning “cures” a lot and said momentum in the game did indeed turn on Nebraska’s failed on-side kick call.
Fitz: “Winning cures a lot of ills… and anytime there’s a trophy on the line, it just means more.”

After a 3-9 season last year, starting off with a win in Week 0 is certainly a big win the for the program. We will see how the Wildcats build on the outing moving forward.
